Our Scope
The Whissendine STW project was designed to improve effluent quality and operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with updated environmental standards.
The key components of the project included:
- Installation of a new ferric dosing system
- Modifications to rotating biological contactor (RBC) pipework
- Construction of a new tertiary solids removal (TSR) feed pumping station
- Installation of a new TSR system
- Modifications to the reed bed outlet
- Development of new laboratory facilities
- Integration of new flow meters and monitors
Project Completion & Impact:
The key outputs were successfully delivered by summer 2024, with the plant meeting process performance success criteria. Final documentation and handover with Severn Trent Water are currently in progress.
By completing these upgrades, the FLI Water and Glasswell & Last Joint Venture has contributed to improved site performance, enhanced regulatory compliance, and the long-term sustainability of operations at Whissendine STW.
