Pile Cloth Filter
Advanced Filtration for Superior Water Quality
Innovative Solutions, In-House Expertise
FLI Water’s Pile Cloth Filtration systems, including the Grenex GDisk® (PCF unit only) and ChemDisk® (PCF preceded by coagulation and flocculation stages) models, are engineered to deliver superior tertiary solids removal and phosphorus reduction.
The ChemDisk® units are designed in conjunction with coagulation and flocculation stages, these filtration systems are ideal for achieving stringent effluent permits across various applications. The Pile Cloth Filtration technology is built on a robust and efficient design that ensures continuous operation, even under varying hydraulic and solids loadings.
Our Pile Cloth Filtration systems utilise gravity filtration within a low-pressure head system, providing consistent and reliable performance. With a proven track record of over 120 installations worldwide since 2009, including the world’s largest installation in Gwangju, Korea, FLI Water’s filtration solutions are trusted by industries and municipalities globally.

Applications:
Tertiary Solids Removal: Ensures high-quality effluent by removing fine solids, making it ideal for applications requiring strict water quality standards.
Phosphorus Reduction Schemes: Effective in phosphorus removal when combined with coagulation and flocculation, helping to meet regulatory limits for nutrient discharge.

Key Information:
- 900mm, 1200mm, 2200mm (Standard), 3000mm
- Capable of accommodating up to 24 disks per machine, allowing for scalable filtration capacity.
Available in various cloth media to achieve a range of effluent quality standards, ensuring compliance with diverse regulatory requirements.
External Centrifugal Pumps: Configurable with duty/standby modes and actuated valves for reliable operation.
Internal Pumps for 900mm Disks: Compact and efficient, designed for smaller installations.
Stainless Steel or Concrete: Customizable tank options to suit specific site conditions and project requirements.

Additional Features
- Gravity Filtration with Low-Pressure Head System: Efficient design that reduces energy consumption and operating costs.
- 24-Hour Continuous Operation: Ensures uninterrupted filtration, even during backwashing cycles.
- Automatic Backwashing: Triggered by water level controls, minimising manual intervention.
- Low Backwash Water Requirements: Optimises water use and reduces operational expenses.
- Energy Efficiency: Very low power consumption contributes to OPEX savings, making it an economical choice.
- High Filtrate Quality: Consistently delivers filtrate with typically 1-5ppm Total Suspended Solids (TSS), ensuring compliance with stringent quality standards.
- Minimal Mechanical Components: Fewer moving parts mean reduced maintenance needs and higher reliability.
- Durable Cloth Media: Only subjected to stress during cleaning, resulting in extended service life.
User-Friendly Maintenance: Externally mounted backwash and sludge pumps allow for easy access and maintenance.
