Site Manager

We’re looking for a Site Manager to join our team on various projects in the Severn Trent region.   Ideally, we’d like someone from a water industry background or with general construction site management experience.   You will be managing subcontractors and sites on a day to day basis, health & Safety, plant, materials, labour and programme.   You will work closely with our project teams – great communication and IT skills are a must.  You must be happy to travel and stay away from home (company van/ fuel card and accommodation plus overnight allowance paid.)

Quantity Surveyor

We have an opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial Team at our Kempston site. This is a hybrid role, with some home working as well as a requirement for you to work in the office and visit sites. 

You must have strong NEC experience and be familiar with Compensation Events, especially taking ownership of claims. Other areas of responsibilities include CVR (cost value reconciliation), assessments, forecasting, and analysis. Ideally you will have large infrastructure project experience and have been involved in claims, particularly where there has been a delay in the programme. A full UK Driving Licence is required.

Process Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for a degree qualified Engineer/Scientist with experience of the water and wastewater industry to join our growing business. You will be ensuring the successful delivery of project process and commissioning, managing the standards, and ensuring the timely production of information for efficient contract completion. In summary the role requires an excellent communicator and negotiator with good technical skills as you will be involved in preparing diagrams, philosophies, and calculations. The Process Engineer will be liaising with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, be able to work well as part of a team and possess commercial awareness. A full UK driving licence is required.

Senior Process Engineer

Location: Kempton, Bedfordshire

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead process design from concept through to commissioning
  • Prepare P&IDs, mass balance diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and design engineers
  • Liaise with clients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Support pilot trials and new technology assessments
  • Deliver operator training and manage commissioning activities
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvement

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree-qualified engineer/scientist with 5–10+ years’ experience
  •  Chartered or working towards Chartered status
  • Strong background in municipal wastewater projects
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
  • Full UK driving licence

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Kempton, Bedfordshire

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

 

About the Role:
You’ll play a key role in developing and delivering mechanical engineering solutions from concept through to completion. Working closely with our Technical Director and Lead Design Manager, you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, produce technical documentation, and support the growth of our mechanical design function.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications
  • Develop efficient mechanical design layouts and ensure HSE compliance
  • Support CAD Designers and oversee fabrication/assembly drawings
  • Conduct equipment selection and technical assessments
  • Liaise with internal teams and clients to ensure project success
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvement
  • Support business development and client engagement

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering + Chartered Engineer status

Project Engineer – FLI Water

Kemptson/Bedford
Permanent – Full-Time

At FLI Water, we design, build, and operate cutting-edge process technology for municipal and industrial clients — and we’re looking for a driven Project Engineer to help us deliver excellence from concept to completion.


About the Role

As a Project Engineer, you’ll assist in managing multiple mechanical and electrical (M&E) installation and fabrication projects in parallel — ranging from £5,000 to £3 million. You’ll be involved from client order through to final handover, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget, and with zero accidents. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where collaboration, technical insight, and proactive problem-solving are key.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting Project Managers across all phases of delivery
  • Liaising with Water Company clients and suppliers to scope and execute works
  • Assisting with tender preparation, site visits, and installation oversight
  • Managing resources, materials, and purchasing (up to £15,000)
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, environmental, and IMS standards
  • Preparing method statements, risk assessments, and site documentation
  • Coordinating with internal teams for off-site manufacture and installation
  • Handling up to 10 projects in parallel, depending on scope

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in engineering or project management support roles
  • Preferably practical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes
  • Familiarity with construction methods and equipment in the sector
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Valid CSCS card, SSSTS certification (preferred), and full UK driving licence
  • Preferably a background in mechanical engineering

Design Manager

We are excited to announce that we have an opening for a Design Delivery Manager to join our expanding business. We are looking for highly motivated professional, who has a demonstrable career and experience on the oversight and delivery of water/wastewater projects at both engineering and design level.  As the Design Deliver Manager, you will lead the oversight of the full project lifecycle, from initial inception through to project completion. The role will require you to travel between project sites when required, therefore a full UK driving licence is a necessity.

Fabricator/ Welder

Location – Kempston and travel to sites

We have an excellent opportunity for a Fabricator/Welder to join our team at the Workshop in Kempston. It is essential that you have a City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or NVQ equivalent in Fabrication/Welding or Mechanical Engineering. A driving licence is required as there will be some requirement for travel to the sites.
 
The successful applicant will be a team player and be aware of all the site safety requirement within the workshop and yard. You will take responsibility for ensuring PAT tests are carried out on your tools, be involved in daily checks and generally ensure the workplace is safe and tidy.
 
As a business we pride ourselves on maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and ensure the high quality of our work continues.
 
A key requirement of the role is that you can read and understand engineering and isometric drawings, have experience in welding and fabrication as well as being familiar with piping standards and specifications. If you have a working knowledge of the water industry that would be advantageous, but the right skillset and attitude is the most important. Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise are essential and ideally, you will have experience within an IS9001 organisation.
