HSAF (Hybrid SAF)
HSAF is a Hybrid SAF that utilises an in-house developed floating tubular media, made from 100% recycled materials. The buoyant BMax® media provides a large surface area for biomass growth and enhanced oxygen transfer efficiency is achieved as the air passes up through the packed bed of media.
Another key differentiating feature of HSAF, that sets it apart from all other SAF plant, is that it can be operated in un-aerated mode to remove suspended solids down to less than 15 mg/l and so secure TSS/BOD/P consents.
Key features:
Made from 100% recycled materials, the buoyant BMax® media provides a large surface area for enhanced biomass growth when in aerated mode, whilst effectively trapping suspended solids within its structure in un-aerated mode.
The system features an automated cleaning process that uses an air scour to fluidise the media and remove excess solids and biomass, followed by a settlement period and desludge stage.
The HSAF® is designed for automated operation, requiring minimal operator intervention.

FSAF (Fixed Media SAF)
Product Overview: The FLI Water FSAF is an innovative, fixed media SAF plant engineered to offer a cost-effective, off-site treatment solution. Designed for rapid installation and easy operation, the FSAF is ideal for BOD removal, ammonia removal, or combined treatment in a single, multi-stage unit. The FSAF system can achieve high-quality effluent, with ammonia levels as low as 1 mg/l or less, making it suitable for both permanent installations and temporary treatment needs.
Key features:
The FSAF uses a spiral wound tubular media with a roughened surface to enhance biomass attachment and treatment efficiency. The media blocks are easily loaded into and removed from the plant for maintenance.
The FSAF is designed as a modular, off-site solution, ensuring quick and efficient installation, reducing on-site disruption.
