Twyning STW – Green Recovery WINEP Upgrade
Objective:
To enhance effluent quality at Twyning STW in support of Severn Trent’s Green Recovery Programme, meeting the future Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP) phosphorus discharge limit of 1.5mg/L by December 2027.

Scope of Works:
- Construction of a new Ferric Sulphate Dosing Plant
- Installation of a Final Effluent Monitoring System
- Provision of new Laboratory Facilities to support on-site testing
- MCC Modifications to improve plant control and system integration
Update – October 2025
The project continues to progress well on site:
✔ Construction of chemical dosing and FE kiosk slabs completed
✔ Ferric sulphate dosing units delivered and installed
✔ Final effluent kiosk and POA cabinets positioned on site
✔ Civils package nearing completion with structural works in place
Next Steps:
➡ Completion of the chemical access road and final site finishes
➡ Transition to mechanical installation phase
➡ Installation of pipework and connection of dosing units
➡ Ongoing site preparation for commissioning phase
