Objective:
Deliver phased infrastructure upgrades at Rampton STW to meet Water Framework Directive (WFD) and Environment Agency (EA) permit requirements.
Principal Contractor:
FLI Water & Glasswell & Last (G&L)

Project Scope:
Phase 1: Compliance & Commissioning
- Site mobilisation and temporary accommodation
- New potable water system and safety shower supply
- Ferric dosing rig with new MCC & kiosk
- Final effluent monitoring installations
- Laboratory conversion for water quality testing
- 28-day maturation and commissioning period
Phase 2: Front-End Enhancements
- New washwater pumps and accumulation tank
- Huber inlet screen and MCERTS monitoring
- New access platforms and RAS pipe mods
Phase 3: Process Enhancements
- Oxidation ditch modification with flow inducers
- Aeration control upgrades and platform installation
Phase 4: Final Settlement Tanks
- Full refurbishment of FST 1 & FST 2
- New sludge blanket detectors and motor installations
- Outfall pipe replacement and bellmouth modifications
Phase 5: Site-Wide Completion
- Concrete roads and chamber works
- Installation of chemical dosing and wash water systems
- Electrical works including MCC terminations and lab systems
- Platform installations and mechanical commissioning
Project Update (October 2025):
All major construction and mechanical works are now fully completed.
The project has progressed to the final handover stage, with documentation being compiled and process performance testing underway.
This multi-phase project is a key milestone in helping Severn Trent meet environmental and regulatory commitments.
