Project Overview
FLI Water, in partnership with Glasswell & Last (G&L), was appointed by Severn Trent Water to deliver key upgrades at Lichfield Sewage Treatment Works (STW). The project forms part of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) initiative to enhance environmental performance and process efficiency.
Our Scope
✔️ Construction of new manholes and sewers for drainage and humus return
✔️ Installation of a new humus sludge returns pumping station
✔️ Rising main from sludge transfer pumping station to PST distribution chamber
✔️ Demolition of the existing humus returns pumping station
✔️ Replacement of defective storm sewer section
✔️ New caustic soda dosing rig
✔️ Installation of final effluent monitoring system
✔️ Submersible sump pump and associated works
✔️ Supply and installation of a Reed Bed treatment solution
Project Progress & Impact
The site welfare area is now fully established, with potable water and power connected. Construction of a dedicated staff parking bay is currently underway, with civil works progressing across site.
This project supports Severn Trent Water in delivering long-term environmental benefits, improved effluent quality, and operational reliability.
