Deliver process upgrades to meet tightening EA discharge permits and increased flow demand.

Scope of Works
The Bishops Castle STW project involves the design, construction, and commissioning of key treatment upgrades to enhance effluent quality and regulatory compliance.
Installed Upgrades:
- New Tertiary Solids Removal (TSR) Unit
- New TSR Pumping Station
- Installation of Ferric Dosing Plant
- Installation of Caustic Dosing Plant
These improvements provide enhanced phosphorus removal, improved solids management, and greater operational resilience to meet Environment Agency standards.
Project Update – 2026
The project is now nearing completion.
All major plant installations have been successfully implemented and commissioned to support Severn Trent Water in achieving tighter regulatory requirements and managing increased hydraulic loads.
Final Stage Works:
- Upgrade of the Sand Filter Pumping Station
- One-week installation programme
- 7-day commissioning and performance testing period
Upon completion of this final element, the site will be fully prepared for formal handover.
